Exam Information

MicroKnowledge currently offers exams to achieve the following certifications: Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), Microsoft Office Expert, Microsoft Office Master and Adobe Certified Associate (ACA). Upon successful completion of an exam, the candidate will receive an official certification issued by Microsoft or Adobe.

Exams are taken in a secure environment and are overseen by a proctor. Each certification exam tests skills in a particular Microsoft or Adobe application. The exams are computer-based, and often require candidates to demonstrate particular features in the application by performing a series of steps.

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)

A Microsoft Office Specialist certification is used to demonstrate extensive skills in a particular Office product. MOS exams are offered in the 2003, 2007, or 2010 versions of Office. Passing one of the following exams earns you the Microsoft Office Specialist title for that product.

• Microsoft SharePoint
• Microsoft Word

Microsoft Office Expert

Microsoft Office Expert certification validates advance skills in specific Microsoft Office applications. Gaining the Expert credential requires that a candidate pass either of the following exams.

• Microsoft Excel Expert
• Microsoft Word Expert

Microsoft Office Master

The Microsoft Office Master certification denotes fluency in several important Microsoft Office applications. To achieve this highest designation, a candidate must pass THREE required exams and ONE elective exam.

Adobe Certified Associate (ACA)

An Adobe Certified Associate certification validates entry-level skills needed to plan, design, build, and maintain effective communications by using different forms of digital media. Adobe offers three areas in which to gain ACA certification: Web Communication using Adobe Dreamweaver, Rich Media Communication using Adobe Flash, and Visual Communication using Adobe Photoshop. ACA Exams are offered in versions 8, CS3, CS4, or CS5.
