Pet Pictures with Santa to benefit Animal Protective Foundation

Pets are an important part of many families, but not all animals having loving homes. The Animal Protective Foundation helps find homes for many of the region’s homeless pets. This self-supporting, full-service humane society provides services to Schenectady County and the greater Capital Region. For 80 years, APF has had an “open admission” policy, which ensures that no animals are turned away, no matter their condition or circumstance.

Funded entirely by donations, the APF offers a number of fundraising activities for families and their pets. On Saturday, Dec. 3 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at APF’s shelter, located at 53 Maple Avenue in Scotia, animal lovers and pets alike can help support the APF with a holiday-themed fundraiser, Pet Pictures with Santa. Digital photos in holiday frames will be available for $6 each, or attendees can take their own photos for $3 per sitting. There will also be a holiday bake sale and the opportunity to meet wonderful pets in need of homes.

Funds raised will help the APF build a new surgical facility so the organization can expand its spay and neutering program to help reduce the number of unplanned and unwanted litters of cats and dogs.
