President's Letter

Note from Kathleen Pingelski, President – April 2017

Who is ready for the spring weather to arrive in the Capital Region?  A couple of weeks ago we all experienced a record amount of snow fall.  However, through the use of technology, the MicroKnowledge team is able to work remotely from home and stay safe when the weather is bad.  Microsoft Office 365 enables us to access our data from any place, any time.

Eleonora Morrell training a client in her home town of New York City

We didn’t let the winter season slow us down.  Our team has been busy training clients all over New York State in recent months.  Did you know the MicroKnowledge team of trainers will come to your offices anywhere and deliver training to your team?  In the past several months we delivered training in Buffalo, Rochester, White Plains and New York City to name a few.  Call us if you would like to coordinate training at your location.

Please join us in congratulating team member Nancy LaPietro who recently received the Ambassador of the Year Award from the Capital Region Chamber.  The reward recognizes the immense amount of work Nancy does on behalf of the chamber in the business community. All of us at MicroKnowledge are proud to have Nancy on our team and we applaud her commitment to the community.

Lisa Ryan, our Excel expert and co-owner of MicroKnowledge, demonstrated Excel PowerPivot tools to more than 30 people during our Customer Appreciation session last Thursday. Participants learned how to leverage this powerful tool to summarize and analyze data. We hope you can make it to our Customer Appreciation Sessions in the coming months or learn more about PowerPivot in an upcoming class.

We’re supporting another community organization, the American Diabetes Association, by participating in its Tour de Cure on Sunday, June 4 at Saratoga State Park, which is a new venue for this annual fundraiser. As a member of the executive committee I can share with you that there will be more of a festival feel to the event, with live music, family friendly activities, and food and beverage trucks.  Please join our team and ride with us, or feel free to make a donation to support our efforts and the ADA.

And, finally, please check out our Try This, It Works section to learn about a new function in Excel 2016.

Here’s hoping Spring weather arrives soon!
